The Cozy Charm of Vintage Forest Fancies Pyrex

The Cozy Charm of Vintage Forest Fancies Pyrex

If you love vintage Pyrex, then you know the thrill of finding that perfect piece—the one that makes your kitchen feel like a warm hug from the past. And if you’re a fan of earthy, nostalgic designs, Forest Fancies is a pattern you’ll want in your collection.

I have to admit—this is one of my absolute favorite Pyrex patterns. In fact, I love it so much that I keep it in my personal collection only (sorry, not for sale!). There’s just something about the delicate mushroom motif and the warm, neutral tones that makes me think of cozy autumn mornings and rustic cabin kitchens. It has a charm that’s both understated and nostalgic, and I just can’t part with it!

Released in 1981, Forest Fancies was a departure from the bold floral designs of earlier Pyrex. Instead, it embraced a more natural, earthy aesthetic—perfect for those who love a little vintage cottagecore vibe in their home. The pattern appeared on some of Pyrex’s most iconic pieces, including Cinderella mixing bowls (those handy ones with the spouted handles), round casseroles with matching lids, and refrigerator dishes that make leftovers look stylish. Some of the mixing bowls are solid tan, while others feature the intricate mushroom print, making the full set look effortlessly beautiful stacked together.

One of the things I love most about Forest Fancies is how well it mixes with other vintage kitchenware. Its neutral tones blend beautifully with Butterfly Gold, Woodland, and even plain white Pyrex. And let’s be honest—mushrooms are just cool. There’s something so charming and whimsical about them, and they fit right in with today’s love for retro, nature-inspired décor.

If you do manage to get your hands on a Forest Fancies dish, treat it well! Hand wash it (no dishwashers—unless you want those mushrooms to fade into oblivion), avoid anything too abrasive, and store it carefully to keep it chip-free. These pieces are getting harder to find, and prices are creeping up, especially for ones in great condition with original lids.

While Forest Fancies isn’t available in my shop (because, again, I can’t bring myself to sell it!), I do have other amazing vintage Pyrex patterns for sale. If you’re looking to add some retro charm to your kitchen, check out my collection—you might just find your next favorite! 🍄✨
